United Table Mechanics
UK casino comparison

Independent comparison · UKGC-licensed operators only

Six UK casinos, taken apart the way a mechanic would.

We spend our time on the two things that decide whether a casino is worth your evening: what is actually in the game lobby, and whether the live tables hold up. Six licensed operators, the same eight checks for each, scores out of ten — and the reasoning written down where you can argue with it.

United Table Mechanics is an independent, affiliate-funded comparison site. We are not a casino, not a regulator, and not owned by any brand listed here — we run no games and take no part in any play; we only review and compare. Some links pay us a commission. 18+ only. If you gamble, set limits first — safer gambling resources.

Where the games actually are

Advertising disclosure. The buttons below carry affiliate links: if you sign up through one, the operator may pay us a commission at no cost to you. Commissions never move a score — the same eight checks apply whether a brand pays us or not, and several operators we score well have no deal with us at all. How the funding works

Happy Tiger

Slots-led Easy to use UKGC licence

Happy Tiger comes from Grace Media, a UK operator that runs a whole stable of sister casinos, and the practice shows: sign-up is quick, the lobby search actually works, and nothing useful is buried three menus deep. The games skew heavily towards slots — Pragmatic Play, Red Tiger and Eyecon feature prominently — with a smaller set of live tables sitting behind them. It is not the deepest library on this page, but it is the easiest one to walk into cold.

Kwiff

App-first Evolution live

The app came first at Kwiff — the brand made its name "supercharging" sports odds — and the casino inherits that phone-first DNA. Evolution supplies the live tables, and the slot list covers the major studios without padding.

Ladbrokes

Est. 1886 Deepest lobby here

Trading since 1886 and now part of Entain alongside Coral, Ladbrokes brings the largest game count on this page and a live lobby that runs genuinely deep — dedicated tables, game shows, and a roulette selection most rivals can't match.

TigerBet

Compact Newer site

Small, newer, and deliberately compact: TigerBet keeps a sensible shelf of slots, a slim live section, and pages that load fast. Fine as a starting point; less so if lobby depth is what you came for.

Lucky Vegas

SkillOnNet platform Big slots shelf

Lucky Vegas sits on SkillOnNet — the platform behind PlayOJO — so a large slots library and a full Evolution live floor come as standard rather than as promises. The Vegas theming stays light-touch, which we count as a mercy.

BetVictor

Roots to 1946 Sport + casino

A bookmaker at heart — the firm traces its history to 1946 and ran for decades as Victor Chandler — BetVictor pairs its sportsbook with a properly stocked casino. Live-dealer coverage is broad, and the whole site feels grown-up rather than gimmicky.

Why games and live tables come first

The lobby is the casino

Licences, apps and support matter — we check all of them — but they are plumbing. What you actually do on a casino site is open the lobby and pick something to play, which is why our scoring weights game variety and live-dealer quality above everything else.

Game variety is measurable: which studios are on the shelf, whether the search can find a specific title, how much beyond slots exists. Live casino quality is almost as concrete. Most UK operators buy their live floor from Evolution or Playtech, so the questions become: how many tables did they license, do they run any dedicated ones, and are game shows included or is it three blackjack streams and a prayer?

Those two criteria split our six operators more sharply than any other check. Ladbrokes and Lucky Vegas pull ahead on raw depth, BetVictor holds its own through the live floor, while TigerBet's compact shelf costs it real points. The full breakdown shows the working.

Methodology

How we compare operators

Every operator on this site goes through the same eight checks, in the same order, by the same small team. We open a real account where possible, spend time in the lobby, sit at the live tables, try the app on an ordinary phone, and send the support team a question we already know the answer to. Scores are out of ten, set against the whole UK market rather than just this page, and re-checked quarterly — lobbies change, and a score from last year is a rumour, not a fact.

We are independent and affiliate-funded: operators can pay us commission for referred sign-ups, but they cannot pay for a score, a position, or a kinder sentence. We also keep a deliberate boundary around scope — we review games, apps and service, and we stay out of anything involving money handling. For how offers and wagering work in principle, the operator's own terms are always the source of truth.

The eight checks

  1. UKGC licence, verified against the public register
  2. Game library depth and search
  3. Live casino: provider, tables, dedicated floor
  4. Mobile app and mobile web
  5. Game studios and standout titles
  6. Welcome offer type and clarity of terms
  7. Customer support: channels and speed
  8. Everyday usability

Safer gambling

If it stops being fun, stop — here's who can help

Gambling is entertainment with a price tag, never a way to make money. These four organisations are free, confidential and UK-focused; every operator we list participates in GamStop.

Questions we actually get

Asked and answered, at proper length

Does the affiliate money change your scores?

Honest answer: it pays for the site, and that is all it does. Commission deals sit with a different part of the operator's business than the product we review, and the rates barely differ between brands anyway — there is no financial pull towards one score over another. The stronger safeguard is structural: TigerBet sits bottom of this page at 6.9 while carrying an affiliate link just like the rest, which would be strange behaviour for a site selling its scores. If we ever list an operator we can't earn from, the review runs the same checks and the page looks identical.

What does a UKGC licence actually get me?

More than a badge in the footer. A Gambling Commission licence means the operator must verify your age before you play, test its games through approved labs, offer deposit limits and time-outs, participate in GamStop, and give you a route to a free independent dispute service if a complaint goes nowhere. It does not mean the casino is generous or even good — plenty of licensed sites are mediocre — but it draws a hard floor under how badly things can go. All six operators on this page hold one; we verify against the Commission's public register on every re-check.

How does GamStop work if I need a break?

You register once at gamstop.co.uk — name, date of birth, postcode, email — and choose six months, one year or five years. From that point every UK-licensed operator must block you from playing and from opening new accounts, including every site we list. Two things people miss: it cannot be lifted early, by anyone, however politely you ask; and it does not expire automatically — after your period ends you have to contact GamStop to be removed. It is a serious tool, and for shorter pauses most operators also offer their own time-outs from 24 hours up.

Are welcome bonuses worth taking?

Sometimes, if you read one number first: the wagering requirement. A "£50 bonus" with 35x wagering means £1,750 of play before bonus winnings convert to withdrawable money, and slots usually contribute 100% towards that while table games contribute a sliver or nothing. That is not a scam — it is how the industry prices its marketing — but it means an offer's headline figure tells you almost nothing. Our scoring rewards operators whose terms are short and legible over those with the biggest number in the banner, and we would rather you skipped an offer than took one you hadn't read.

United Table Mechanics is an independent comparison and review site funded by affiliate commissions. We are not a gambling operator, we hold no gambling licence, we run no games and we take no part in any wagering. Operator scores are editorial opinions based on the checks described above; offers, terms and game libraries change and the operator's own site is always the current source. All listed operators are licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. 18+ only. If gambling is causing you harm, help is free and confidential at GambleAware.
